What We Collect

Short list. We keep it tight on purpose.

  • Your name and email — to deliver your results and send access codes
  • Your last initial — shown in team dashboards so leaders know who's who
  • Your quiz responses — the answers that determine your flavor
  • Your experience level — the Seasoning System tier you self-report

That's it. We don't collect demographics, browsing history, or anything we don't actually need.

How We Use It

We use your info to generate your flavor results, run team dashboards, send transactional emails (access codes, receipts), and help you if something breaks.

We never sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.

What Team Leaders See

If you're on a team, your leader sees your first name, last initial, flavor, and seasoning level. That's the whole list.

They never see your email. That stays between you and us.

Third-Party Services

We use a small set of trusted services to run things: Stripe (payments, we never touch your card number), Supabase (secure database for your responses and results), Resend (transactional emails only), Vercel (website hosting and cookieless analytics).

Each one gets only the data it needs to do its job. Nothing extra.

Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies for one thing: keeping you logged in. Vercel Web Analytics counts page views and site usage without cookies — it doesn't track you across visits, doesn't store anything on your device, and doesn't collect personally identifiable information.

No advertising cookies. No tracking cookies. No data brokers. No profiling. No ad networks.

How Long We Keep It

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account or ask us to delete your data, we'll remove your personal information within 30 days.

Payment records are retained as required by law — we don't get a say in that part. Anonymized, de-identified quiz responses may be retained for research validation and product improvement, but nothing that traces back to you.

Your Rights

You can request a copy of your data, corrections, or full deletion. Email hello@recognitionflavors.com and we'll respond within 30 days.

State Privacy Rights

If you live in California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Delaware, Indiana, or Tennessee, you have additional rights under your state's privacy law.

What this means for you: Your quiz responses and flavor results may qualify as "sensitive personal information" under laws like the CCPA/CPRA. We use this data only to deliver your results and improve the Recognition Flavors model. We don't sell it or share it with third parties for advertising.

Your rights include: knowing what we collect and why, requesting deletion, opting out of data sale or sharing (we don't sell, but you can still ask), correcting your info, and not being penalized for exercising any of these rights. You can also designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf.

To exercise any right: Email hello@recognitionflavors.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We'll verify your identity and respond within 45 days.

Research consent: If you opted in during the quiz, your anonymized results may be used to validate the model. You can withdraw consent anytime. Withdrawal doesn't affect anything that happened before you withdrew.

Refund Policy

The Deal

Recognition Flavors is a digital product. Once your results are delivered and your code is activated, there's no putting that back in the box. We don't offer refunds on delivered purchases. Standard for the industry, and fair to everyone involved.

But we're not robots about it. If something broke on our end, a glitchy code, a missing email, a quiz that crashed mid-question, we'll make it right. Reach out to help@recognitionflavors.com and we'll fix it. No runaround.

When to Contact Us

You've got 30 days from purchase. Let us know if your access code never showed up, the quiz broke or crashed, your results look clearly wrong, or anything else prevented you from getting what you paid for.

Email help@recognitionflavors.com with the details. We'll fix it or refund it. We typically respond within 24 hours.

What You're Buying

A one-time license to access the Recognition Flavors team assessment for the number of people in your pack. Not a subscription. Pay once, get access.

Your purchase grants a license to access — not a transfer of ownership of the underlying content, quiz methodology, or flavor system.

How Access Works

After purchase, you get an activation code via email. That code unlocks your team tier. Codes have an activation window — if yours goes unused, it will deactivate, but your purchase value is never lost. Contact us at help@recognitionflavors.com and we'll get you reactivated. No runaround.

Slots are cumulative and never reset.

What This Is (and Isn't)

Recognition Flavors is a team engagement tool. It helps people understand how they like to be recognized at work. That's it.

It is not a hiring tool, a performance evaluation, a psychological assessment, or professional advice of any kind. Don't use it to make employment decisions like hiring, firing, promotions, compensation, or disciplinary actions. Those are your calls, not ours.

Participation should always be voluntary. If someone on your team doesn't want to take it, respect that.

Your Responsibilities

Provide accurate info when you create your account. Don't share your activation code outside your authorized team. Don't scrape, reverse-engineer, or misuse the platform. And don't use it to harass, discriminate against, or harm anyone. This shouldn't need to be said, but here we are.

Our Responsibilities

We deliver the product as described, keep your data secure, respond to support requests within a reasonable timeframe, and never sell or misuse your personal information.

Intellectual Property

The Recognition Flavors name, flavor system, Seasoning System, quiz content, and all related materials belong to Sugary Genesis LLC. Use your results within your organization all you want, but don't republish, resell, or redistribute the assessment content itself.

Automated Access & Scraping

Don't use bots, scrapers, crawlers, or automated tools to copy content from this site for AI training, dataset creation, competitive analysis, or republishing.

Search engine indexing and AI-powered search citation (showing up in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude results) are fine. Everything else requires written permission from us.

Violations may result in IP-level blocking and legal action under applicable copyright and computer fraud laws.

Limitation of Liability

Recognition Flavors is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

We are not liable for: employment decisions based on quiz results, indirect or consequential damages (lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, reputational harm), professional, psychological, or legal advice (we don't give any), or claims arising from your use or inability to use the service.

Our total liability for any claim won't exceed what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. If you paid nothing, the cap is $100.

Exceptions: This cap doesn't apply to gross negligence or willful misconduct on our part, fraud, intellectual property infringement, death or personal injury, or where the law says we can't limit liability.

Privacy obligations stand: Nothing in this section limits our responsibilities under CCPA/CPRA, VCDPA, or any other applicable privacy law. Your data rights are your data rights.

Indemnification

If you violate these terms, break a law while using our platform, or infringe on someone else's rights, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Sugary Genesis LLC and its officers, directors, and employees from any resulting claims, damages, or costs.

Dispute Resolution

If there's a problem, email us first at help@recognitionflavors.com. Most things can be sorted out without lawyers. If we can't resolve it informally, any dispute will be governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.

The Fine Print

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still stands. These terms represent the entire agreement between you and us, superseding any prior conversations or agreements. We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will update the effective date at the top. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

Payment Security

How Payments Work

Every payment runs through Stripe, a PCI Level 1 certified processor. That's the highest security certification in the payments industry.

We never see, store, or have access to your credit card number. Your payment info goes straight to Stripe's secure servers. Our site uses HTTPS encryption on every page.

All transactions are in USD. Your bank statement will show Sugary Genesis or SUGARYGENESIS.

Mystery Charge?

If you see something you don't recognize, email help@recognitionflavors.com before disputing with your bank. We'll sort it out fast, usually within 24 hours.
